PV Sindhu became a familiar name when she got the entire country rooting for her during the Rio Olympics. Winning the silver medal in Badminton, she sealed her name in history. The entire nation prided in her wonderful game and praises were spoken in her name.
And now once again, PV Sindhu has done it, albeit a little quietly this time owing to the demonetization frenzy.
She became the second Indian woman to reach the final of China Open, with Saina Nehwal achieving the feat back in 2014. Sindhu beat Chinese favorite Sun Yu to clinch the title of China Open. With this win, Sindhu now has her first Super Series title in hand.
Seventh seed Sindhu registered a hard-fought 21-11, 17-21, 21-11 victory over the eighth seeded Sun in the gruelling summit clash that lasted 69 minutes.
